Landon Alexander Factor || artist
Landon Alexander Factor, codename "Factor", is one of the more dangerous criminals this side of the world. He's mentally unstable and suffering from antisocial personality disorder, making him a heartless, remorseless killer. He's no petty criminal. Any Guild Apprentice would be a fool to go after him. Guild Members beware as well. He's quite the spontaneous one. Landon is about twenty years old, with shaggy, light blonde hair and green eyes. Multicolored tattoos run up and down his entire left arm. He looks happy most of the time and carefree, definitely not appearing as the criminal type. But one wrong move, one moment of letting your guard down, and he'll rip you in two for so much as looking at him funny. If there's one thing he likes, it's killing. If there's another thing he likes, it's art. Only because of his power. When he was a little kid, he hated art. He was never really creative. But when he discovered that the stick figures he drew came to life, he became inspired. His art became his tool of murder. For years he went unnoticed, for who would ever bother to look at a little boy when there was no reason for it. he never left a trail behind, never a trace. But some of the kids he lived near always whispered rumors about him. The blonde haired boy with the bright smile, and the sketchbook with bloodstained pages. Now he is an adult and a full fledged criminal, escaping to this world to avoid the nuisance of the police. The Guild chase after him and others like him to be sure, but he finds it fun. Recently he has devoted his life to being an avid Portalist when he came across a rare Portalstone. He's still figuring out how to use it and its other secrets, but he feels exceedingly closer to figuring it out. And once he's set his mind to something, nothing and no one better get in his way.
Isabella "Cupcake" Harvard || neko
Her real name is Isabella Harvard, but everyone calls her Cupcake. Why? Well, look at her! She's so adorable! Cupcake is a six year old neko girl with short and soft orange hair and big green eyes. Her ears and tail are the same orange as her hair. Just like her hair color implies, she's a little fireball, always wound up and ready to go. She's playful and adventurous, sometimes getting in trouble. But she's way too cute to get mad at. Balavendar might even like her, but we'll never know. She absolutley loves boxes, and she sleeps in them. Never in a bed. She loves all things little, fluffy, cute, sweet, and fuzzy. I know what you're thinking, "But this little kitty is way too cute for the Guild right?" Wrong. "But... but..." you insist. WRONG! You'll never know it just by looking or watching her, but she is not someone you want to mess with. She has a bizarre ability, and one she uses quite often. If ever she feels threatened, she'll scratch you. "Well... that's not too bad," you say. Oh but you're wrong. Once she's scratched you, she has picked you as the target. And your body will violently turn inside out. Then that cute little kitty cat will jump around in your blood as if it were rain puddles. She doesn't really know what she's doing. The Guild is helping her control her power so they can use her in the future.
Lord Eve || Druid Necromancer
Few know who he is. Or what he is for that matter. Does he even exist? Most say not. He's just a shadow in the dark, a passing nightmare, a fading thought. A rumor. A myth. A mystery. He has only been glimpsed once or twice, and he is connected to hundreds of crimes. Not dozens. Hundreds. He's the thing tapping at your window, going bump in the night, waiting to steal naughty children from their beds. But the real him. That's something else. The real person he is isn't a person at all. Lord Eve. He's a quiet, secluded man who sticks to the woods unless out hunting for unsuspecting victims. He was born half druid and half necromancer. Raised in the goodness of all druids, he forsook them and sought only evil. Corruption blackened his heart and evil clouded all conscience. He used his powers for his own ends, and was soon banished from all society. He came here, to this world, to escape persecution, and with his knowledge of death and life, he has been able to exist for centuries. Lord Eve is tall with dark skin, long, red hair, and crimson colored eyes. He usually wears black or dark red robes and adorns himself with the skulls and bones of animals and humans. He practices his macabre arts. He is the reason there are so many criminals. He makes them, then sends them off to discover their powers, and wreck havoc on their own. Because of their dark origins, nearly all of them turn to criminal deeds, becoming evil themselves. Lord Eve enjoys his power and the rumors whispered about him, and he won't change. No. Not even if the entire Guild was at his throat. He is Lord Eve and he will bow before no man. But every man had best bow to him.
Cairo Ferro Alexander || Beastmaster
A strange and mysterious man, Cairo Ferro Alexander has long served the Guild of Shadows. He is strange, yes, and mysterious, but not for most commonly conceived perceptions. He is not a dark and foreboding strange mystery, but more of a puzzling concept with an unspoken history, long buried and forgotten. He is a pleasant, happy young man. Always smiling, cheerful, compassionate, forgiving, and gentle. Some think these are simple tricks to catch others unawares and off guard, but such is not so. He is genuinely happy. That is what makes him strange. The guild is full of dark and twisted people. Balavendar himself smiles, sure, but it's always an evil grin. Cairo is a little beam of light in the room full of darkness. He is peace where the guild is chaos, reform where they are destruction. He is no pessimist though. Aroused or disturbed, he will fight and fight viscously. It's apparent he has had a great deal of training in the art of warfare and battle. And his loyal follower, the dog and lionlike beast named Talisman, is his most perfect companion. Seldom are they seen apart, bound by a bond stronger than brotherhood. They seem to read each other's minds. They know each others words. They are two halves of a soul. So they have been for years and will be for many more. Cairo and Talisman were not always so happy. Cairo lived, as all lived, on earth. When Cairo was young, he was an only child. His mother had other sons and daughters, but they were all born dead. Cairo was her last. She died. He grew up mostly alone, his father a high ranking officer in the military and always away for one reason or other. It was around the age of five that he discovered his heritage; he was a Beast Master. He could summon creatures and tame them with his will. It was at this age that he summoned his first creature, an Arcanine Beast named Talisman. Talisman was just a baby himself, and the two became fast friends, playing and living out their days no longer alone. His father came home when he was twelve, and when he saw the creature, among a few others Cairo had summoned, he became angry. He shot and killed most of them, but Cairo, in his despair, threw himself in front of Talisman. He didn't understand his father's actions and begged him to spare Talisman's life. It was then his father told him his reasons. There would be war, and such a talent as his meant great promise for the army. His father would not have his son join. But his father's will was next to nothing against the will of the King. Cairo's gift was discovered, possibly from neighbors who wished to gain favors or fortune in exchange for such information. Cairo and Talisman were abducted into the King's Army and sent overseas to fight against the colonists in what would be known as the Revolutionary War. It was a war to remember, and remember it Cairo did. The screams, the blood, the smell of burning and dying. When he turned nineteen, the war had ended, but he and his beast were left stranded, injured and dying on the shores of American soil. Cairo doesn't remember how he survived, or why he stopped aging after that. But he made his way back to his home in England, and since then, has partaken in every bloody struggle since, including World War I and World War II. He was kept as part of a secret faction inside the army during both fights, his powers exploited for Britain's personal gain. But though it lasted long, it ended abruptly. Before the end of World War II, Cairo's involvement ended. A bomb exploded too close for comfort. He was left lying in mud, his entire right side missing, cutting a huge hold from under his arm down to his hip. He thought it was the end. He prayed it was the end. He was not afraid of death, because Talisman was ever by his side. He blinked, and suddenly found himself thrown into a whole other world. This world. With the criminals in criminal corner and the Guild of Shadows fighting them off. His injuries were healed and he was alive. He had been given a second chance at life, to live it as he wanted to. For the first time in his life, he felt free. So he joined up with the Guild of Shadows and fought against evil as called. But this time, he did everything with a choice. Never again, he swore, would he pander to the whims and fancies of Kings and Ministers. He was himself. He was free. He was home. Cairo is a permanently nineteen year old man with spiky blonde hair and golden-orange eyes. He is tall and muscular, his body laced with faint scars over his light colored skin. He wears mostly jackets, gloves, and combat boots, and an earring in his left ear.
Talisman || Arcanine
In an unnamed dimension of unknown origins, there are phoenix-like beasts called Arcanines. Neither lion nor dog, but something of both and the size of rhinos, these creatures are a race to be feared. Talisman is one of them. Talisman is a full grown Arcanine Beast with very soft, fluffy fur, piercing red eyes, and sharp fangs. He is something of a gentle giant when not locked in the frenzy of battle. He's a noble, loyal creature, never leaving the side of his companion Cairo. Talisman's past is greatly intertwined with Cairo's, having served in the Revolutionary and both World Wars alongside him. He has seen the same horrors and felt the same fears. He's bled as much blood and broken as many bones. He cares for nothing but Cairo, and his happiness comes from Cairo's smile. He would do anything for his Companion, as Cairo would do for him. He cannot talk, but he barks and growls, and has such intelligent eyes that they seem to speak all the words you need to know. His power is the power of all Arcanines. He can breathe and light himself on fire. Such power is similar to the dragons and phoenixes. Because of his powers, he is naturally a very warm creature and cannot be burned by any means. Talisman has the telltale white and orange-red fur of the Arcanines, with a white mane, throat, and tail. His back is embezzled with black, tiger stripes, and his eyes are a warm gold color.
Fincayra and Evereign Drucalias || Skinling and Gorgon
Fincayra and Evereign; the two Drucalias brothers, also known as the Blood Twins and the Dread Walkers.
Both brothers share shoulder length, shaggy hair; a mix of true red, mahogany, and the vibrant colors of blood. Their eyes are an odd, pink-red hue. They both have light, almost fair skin, athletic bodies, and their fair share of scars. Both of them seem to be roughly between the ages of fourteen to sixteen. Despite that their age is unknown, it is definite that they are of the same age as they are identical twins. On their right hands is a tattoo of a compass rose with a skull at its center, for they are both part of the Skypirates. Though the two of them have their personality differences, they share one mind, one heart, and one goal: to protect each other even at the cost of their lives. Because of this, they are two of the deadliest opponents in battle. They attack each and every enemy with such a horrifying wrath that is rarely ever seen. If one brother gets so much as a slight scratch, the other is bound to unleash vengeance. They are two halves of a whole, as they say. Or maybe they are more than that. To each other; most definitely.
Fincayra Avalon Drucalias (pronounced: Fin-kay-rah) is the younger of the two by a few minutes. He is lighthearted and considered to be fairly innocent. He can be playful and have a very childlike view of the world. He finds joy in the simplest of things. He doesn't talk much around other people, unless Evereign is talking or says it's all right for him to talk. Once he's opened up and becomes a little comfortable, he can carry on a pleasant enough conversation. He doesn't talk about himself too much, as he sees no reason for it, and would really prefer not to. When Fincayra was young, there was a fire. That's all anyone knows; a fire. No one knows if the house was on fire, or just a random building, or even if Fincayra himself was on fire. Fincayra obviously survived. He has become completely paranoid of fire ever since. His reaction is always different, but always one of recklessness or utter paranoia. He'll freeze up, he'll run, he'll scream, he'll stare, he will fall silent. If you touch him, he will react violently and try to hurt you. Even his brother, whom he loves and swears to never harm. He will often start talking in a hurried, terrified voice, and what he talks about is never the same subject; it differs every time he faces a different fire. No one knows how to help him, an Evereign seems to be the only one who is continuously there for him. Fincayra has suffered in the past. That much is apparent. The fear for his life and the past misery are causes enough to have made him with a brighter outlook and love for life in his normal state. Fincayra has the powers of the Skinlings. Meaning, he can force himself into anyone's body and control it. He can even use their powers.When he first jumps in, he has complete control, the inner person sort of passing out. As he uses the body longer, the person becomes more awake and aware. If he stays past the point of them fully awakening, they can attack him. This can be dangerous. If he defeats the inner person, they will go back to sleep, but if they defeat him, he will be violently thrown out of their body, left in a weak and agonized state. This can give anyone the chance to injure or kill him. Even though he is not an actual Skinling and only possesses their powers, the trips he takes into other people's bodies, have the same effects as they would on actual Skinlings and usually leave mental scars, which take the form of migraines, nightmares, sickness, memory loss, hallucinations, or even, a coma. Supposedly, he can die, so he has to be very careful. He always has his brother Evereign watching over him, so he isn't too worried. But he knows that his brother is always worried about him.
Evereign Celestial Drucalias (pronounced: Ever-ain) is the elder of the two twins by exactly seven minutes and seven seconds. He is the hard, cold, and severe of the two brothers. He doesn't really seem to fit in with the happy-go-lucky, cheerful band of Skypirates, but his brother had his heart set on joining the merry group, and Evereign naturally obliged him and followed along. If he's happy or unhappy with the pirates, no one knows, for he will never say. He does tend to get annoyed with them, but follows orders almost religiously. His only weakness is his brother. If ever harm befell him, he would give up everything, and I mean everything, to save him. He will not leave his brother's side, even for a moment. He did once. Only once. And that has been the one thing he has punished himself for relentlessly. Granted, he is more than pleased to see his brother so happy and full of life, but the means did not justify the result. Evereign has the power of the gorgons. He can turn things to stone with merely a glance. His power isn't always activated, and it is harder to use it than one might think. It takes concentration, and peace of mind, something not easily attained during battle. That's why you can find him meditating. It's part of his training. A bizarre side effect of his power is turning people to glass. He can only do it when completely out of control. This is harder to attain than merely turning people to stone. He had to be so emotional, so riled up, so berserk, that he cannot think a logical thought, overcome with an instinct to kill. Turning people to glass is irreversible, whereas the stone is. To revert people back to normal, he has to perform some odd performance, almost like a ritual. It involves covering the statue in blood, and then wiping his own blood on its mouth. He rarely uses his powers since it takes so much energy and the results aren't exactly pleasant if they happen on accident.
